Titles:
The title system in the Dominican Republic is very similar to that of Canada, the United States and Europe. Your title is registered to you, the buyer, or to that of a company you own (either Dominican or foreign company). There are no bank trusts or life leases in the DR.

Foreign Buyers:
There are no restrictions for foreigners buying real estate in the Dominican Republic. You have the same rights and responsibilities as a Dominican citizen who owns property. For more information, please visit Guzman Ariza law firm's publication, "Buying Real Estate in the Dominican Republic - an overview".

Residency:
No special visas are required for extended stays in the DR; however, if you wish to move here permanently, it is recommended that you obtain a residency status. This is easily done and requires some basic information from you as well as health tests. For more information, please visit Guzman Ariza law firm's publication: "Obtaining Residency Status in the Dominican Republic: An Overview".
